This is "El Floridita" restaurant, made famous by American
writer Ernest Hemingway (Nobel Prize for Literature 1954). From
here, Hemingway made his contribution to make famous in the whole
world the "Daiquiri" Cocktail: a combination of Cuban
rum, lemon juice, sugar, some drops of marrasquino and ice cubes.
Considered by "Esquire" Magazine as one of the seven best
bars of the world, it has been internationally awarded and recognized.
Among these awards should be mentioned "The Best of the Best,
Academy of Awards of Restaurant Industry" in 1992, a plaque
given for more than one hundred years of outstanding services. It
also received the Gold Medal of Quality, Paris, 1996.
